How do you know when enough is enough?
Enough money? Enough success? Enough love?
There’s no single answer that will apply to each of us.
But I’m convinced that the pathway to each of our answers exist in acknowledging what is in our lives rather than what isn’t.
In other words…
What do I have right now?
Instead of…
What is missing right now?
This has become a daily practice for me.
In fact, it’s become my rule that I have to fill my heart with gratitude before I fill my belly with breakfast.
And so in my search for finding ‘enough,’ I get up each day and remind myself of what I have.
I do that by journaling and saying to myself what I have found to be a powerful mantra:
I have everything I need right now.
And then I look for and acknowledge the evidence of that…
- I have my health.
- I have food.
- I have love.
- I have skills and abilities.
- I have ambition.
- I have support.
- I have a vision.
I have everything I need right now.
It’s a far cry from starting the day with a to-do list that’s a mile long – a list made up of what’s missing or what needs to be done.
Give it a try this week:
- Acknowledge that you have everything you need right now.
- Search for evidence in your life that supports that claim.
- Then go tackle the rest of it.
